How to install the P.wheel Electric Bike Booster?

Transform your regular bicycle into an e-bike in under 30 seconds — no tools, no permanent modifications required.

Watch the full installation video above, then follow the step-by-step guide below.

Step 1: Choose the Adapter

Remove the bicycle seat post and locate the diameter marking — it is usually printed on the seat post itself.

Select the seat post adapter that matches your seat post diameter precisely. P.Wheel includes adapters in the following sizes:

25.4mm / 27.2mm / 28.6mm / 30.4mm / 30.8mm / 31.6mm

⚠️ Important: Always use an adapter that exactly matches your seat post diameter. Using the wrong size may damage the seat post and affect the performance of the power assist.

Note: If your seat post diameter exceeds 31.6mm, replace it with a 31.6mm seat post (a seat post shim can help facilitate the diameter change).

Step 2: Insert the Adapter and Seat Post Clamp

Slide the seat post adapter onto the seat post from the bottom, followed by the seat post clamp.

Both the adapter and clamp can be positioned anywhere along the seat post — leave room for later angle adjustments.

Step 3: Reinsert the Seat Post into the Bicycle

Reinsert the seat post (with adapter and clamp) back into the bicycle seat tube.

Adjust to your preferred riding height and tighten the seat post in place.

⚠️ Note: If the exposed seat post length is too short, the P.Wheel will not be suitable for use on that bicycle.

Step 4: Install the P.Wheel

Rotate the seat post adapter’s opening to face the rear of the bicycle.

Align the P.Wheel clamp with the seat post adapter and clip it in. Then turn the knob toward “Lock” to secure the clamp around the adapter.

Align the drive wheel of the P.Wheel with the rear tire of the bicycle. Ensure the clamp and adapter are fully engaged and fit snugly.

Step 5: Adjust the Angle

Press down on the rear end of the P.Wheel. If there is significant downward movement (more than 5mm), the angle needs adjustment.

Slightly loosen the knob and slide the seat post adapter up or down to change the contact angle of the drive wheel against the rear tire.

Repeat this process until the downward movement of the P.Wheel’s rear end is less than or equal to 5mm — this is the optimal power assist position.

💡 Tip: When tightening or loosening the knob, grip both sides with both hands and rotate simultaneously for best results.

Step 6: Secure

Once the optimal position is achieved:

  1. Tighten the gear shift knob firmly with both hands.
  2. Use the included hex key to secure the seat post clamp.

Your P.Wheel is now fully installed and ready to ride.

Test Before You Ride

  1. Power on the P.Wheel.
  2. Lift the rear wheel off the ground and pedal — the drive wheel should spin and provide assistance.
  3. Apply the brakes — the P.Wheel should immediately stop assisting.

If everything works as expected, you’re ready to go! 🚴⚡
